Join me in my efforts to support Hope for the Warriors!
Hope for the warriors is a non profit organization that was established in 2006. My sister Shannon Maxwell cofounded this amazing organization after her husband Tim was injured in Iraq, October of 2004. It is based around various programs that benefit wounded soldiers and their families. It has already made a huge impact on so many and will continue to do so.
A little about Tim:
Tim was severely wounded with shrapnel after a mortar attack, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Tim has come strides further than anyone thought he would. His last surgery was in August 2008, when they had to remove the piece of shrapnel that they had left in his brain because it was leaking toxic materials. He is currently in OT, PT, and speech therapy at Walter Read and is doing great. His right arm and leg have been his biggest obstacle lately, trying to make them "work right".
